Founded by Stella and James Chavos in 1967, Newport Center Orthopedic has a long-standing tradition of excellence. As of 2022, Newport Center Orthopedic is under new ownership but continues to offer the same exceptional products and services. Our commitment to providing outstanding customer service remains unwavering. Everyone who works here is dedicated to improving the lives of the customers who step through our doors.

NCO is an essential community resource for health care products, aids for daily living, medical supplies, and medical rentals. In addition to providing support for aging family members, our store offers products designed for overall health and wellness; including those who have experienced sports injuries, as well as customers dealing with back or neck pain, sore feet, achy joints, and tired legs.

An Ongoing Commitment to Inspiring Independence
That commitment continues now under the new ownership of Blaine Hunt, CEO and Founder of Access Medical and At-Home Medical. Blaine Hunt brings a wealth of experience and dedication to Newport Center Orthopedic, ensuring that our mission to inspire independence and improve the quality of life for all our customers remains strong.
In March of 2006, Blaine Hunt founded Access Medical, a fully licensed and registered medical service provider specializing in custom, complex wheelchairs as well as all other mobility products for people with disabilities in California, Arizona, Oregon, Hawaii & The Pacific Islands. Access Medical’s talented staff has since served thousands of people with their own customized, complex wheelchairs.
Over the years, it became clear that many within the complex wheelchair community shared other common needs that the experts at Access Medical could address. This led to the creation of At-Home Medical, which provides solutions such as wheelchair ramps, shower, bath and home modifications, additional mobility equipment, hospital beds, and medical supplies to help clients thrive safely at home.

Newport Center Orthopedic offers more than just health care supplies. Our team works with doctors, therapists, and patients to understand each customer’s specific needs.
We aim to be a safe space for aging customers and their families, as well as a resource for overall health and wellness, including those with a minor injury or health problem that requires assistance. We are here to help every step of the way.
